Activity holidays and rafting holiday expeditions
This rafting holiday ensures that you get to experience the very best of all the white water rafting rivers Scotland has to offer. The holiday involves rafting a different river or rivers each day and self catering accommodation in one of out lodges in the evening. Alternative accommodation such as hotels and bed and breakfasts can be arranged if required.
Day 1- We start your holiday with a day on the River Tay in the morning we will be rafting on a 6.5 mile section in 8 person rafts getting you used to the procedures and life on the river. After a break for lunch we do a 3.5 mile section of the River Tay in our smaller Duckie Rafts . At the end of the day you are free to explore the local Aberfeldy area and try one of the excellent restaurants which serve local food.
Day 2- We start at 0930hrs meeting at our office in Aberfeldy. Today we head over to the River Tummel which is located 15 miles away near Pitlochry. The River Tummel is by far our most popular summer river. It is a dam controlled river so we know how much water is in this river in advance and for 2007 their is going to be a lot! After lunch is back to the top of the river for the 2nd run of the day or if the group prefer we go on a canyoning trip to shake things up a bit!! Again the evening is Spent in Aberfeldy.
Day 3 - We have an early start today meeting at the Splash office at 0800hrs where we depart for the River Spey at Aviemore. A change of emphasis today sees a more relaxing day concentrating on the journey and the wildlife. Lunch is on the river but it still leaves you plenty of time to explore Aviemore in the late afternoon and evening. The accommodation is in a local bunkhouse in the center of the town.
Day 4- A short 30 minute drive from Aviemore takes us to the start of the River Findhorn . We start this trip at Logie Steading Visitor Centre. This is a true wilderness river and it will be a day to remember. We aim to finish around 2pm to allow time for traveling.
This holiday can be tailored to accommodation requested and also mixed and matched with our other adventure activities. In the winter months we can add the River Orchy in place of the River Tummel which is out of condition in the winter.
