Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery and wildlife as your guide provides interesting information about the river and the area while doing all the work of rowing you safely to Boat of Garten.This section of the Spey starts from The Old Bridge Inn at Aviemore and follows the river for 7 miles (11km) through the Cairngorm National Park to the bridge at Boat of Garten.
The Spey offers habitat and wildlife unique to the UK due to it being one of the most unpolluted rivers in Britain. Keep an eye out for Scottish Crossbill, the only bird unique to Britain, Water Vole, Osprey’s, Golden Eye Ducks, leaping Atlantic Salmon or the illusive Otters.
Commanding views of the Cairngorns, Monadhliath and Sluggan mountains are revealed as you wind you way down the river.
Once at Boat of Garten you can make you way back to Aviemore on the Strathspey Steam Railway, by road or cycle back through majestic Caledonian Forest via the Sluggan Pass and Glenmore.
