Stag Weekends are getting more and more adventure aware each year. We are seeing a growing trend for the boys to want to do much more than just get wasted, which no doubt they have all experienced before!. Today’s forward thinking stag party is looking for stag weekend ideas that provide all the traditional fun and carry on, but also provide experiences that many in the stag group will not have done before.
During 2009 our stag weekends of rafting and canyoning and rafting and river bugging were our most popular but we also saw a trend for stag groups asking to do more and harder adventure activities. Several stayed for the whole weekend and did three or four activities and a few stayed for several days doing even more. A small but growing group did a lot of research and wanted the harder end of adventure doing our more difficult and challenging canyons and rivers.
So based on our experience of arranging thousands of stag events over the years here is seven things that will help.
1. Do plan ahead. Sounds straightforward but many still leave it to the week before.
2. Do something different. Why just go to the bars and get drunk again? Do something inspireing
3. Do research. Thousands of companies on the web, only a very few deliver what they sell!
4. Do ensure you get value for money. A stag weekend does not need to break the bank.
5. Do inform everyone what they are doing! We have seen a trend of the group not knowing what is happening on the stag weekend. In our experience this is not good for the group bonding!
6. Do get fully involved. Before you know it you will be a age where stag weekends are a thing of the past!
7. Do not get legless during the day! Plan and save the night entertainment and stay away from the booze during the day.
