The Lech River in Austria is indeed a popular destination for all rafting lovers! The right tributary of Danube, the river measures up to a length of 245 km and has a drainage basin of 2,550 sq. miles. The river has its source in the Austrian state of Voralberg. Initiating from its starting place, the river again appears from Formarinsee, a lake located in the Alps. From thereon, the river moves through a long distance, turns to the northeasterly direction and then moves over to the German border.
The Lech River has several waterfalls along its course, giving the river an outstanding look. Further down the course, the river flows inside the narrow gorge and as it leaves the Alps, the waterway again makes its way through the plains of Fussen (a German state).
